Schools sharing

We would love to hear your story

Derek Wenmoth recommends some strategies for schools to think about.
  • explore with students and staff the whole concept of ownership of ideas/information, and of the artefacts created with/as a consequence of those ideas - how to value that etc.
  • adopt a practice of applying a creative commons license to all resources etc created by teachers - and by students. Discuss, in particular, the difference between each license type.
  • model the use of CC licensing - establish processes in the school where this is an 'automatic' action applied to resources before they are shared.
  • model the appropriate forms of attribution in all communications (incl. school notices, powerpoint presentations, etc.)

What strategies have you tried? What works for you? If you want to share your stories on this page, please feel free to join the wiki, become a member and click on the edit button. Add your school details, your name and a short synopsis about developments within your own school to develop cyber safe practices, policy and action. Any links, videos, slideshows, presentations or documentation can also be added in the resources column of the table.
